The African experience would not be complete without the myriad of animals that roam its vast landscapes.

I have included photographs of some iconic animals that I have been fortunate to encounter whilst capturing African landscapes.

These works are not intended to be traditional wildlife photographs where the focus is on the wildlife itself. Rather, I seek to explore the interaction of these animals with their natural environment and human influences, and in so doing, complete the story.

The sustainability of natural fauna and flora are inter-dependant on each other. Loss of natural habitat is one of the biggest threats to wildlife in Africa.

Through these works, I seek to create awareness of the silent demise of species such as Giraffe and Zebra and others like them in Africa.

90% of the habitat suitable for survival of giraffe in Africa has been lost, and the species has already gone extint in 7 African countries.

30% of the total zebra population has already been lost due to habitat loss since the turn of the century.

Africa is known for its dusty roads and spectatular dust-laden sunsets in the winter months.

Through my work, I aim to reconnect people with nature in order to promote sustainability and reduce the risk of climate change transforming our continent into a permenent dust bowl that is devoid of animals and habitat.
